What is ‘Hafa Adai’?

Hafa Adai (pronounced HALF A DAY) is "Hello" in Chamorro, the native language of Guam and the islands of the Northern Marianas. It's basically used the same way as the word "Aloha" in the Hawaiian Islands.

What does ‘Si Yu’os Ma’åse’ mean?

It means ‘Thank You’ in Chamorro.

Where is Guam?

From a distance perspective, Guam is located approximately 6,000 miles from San Francisco, CA; 3,800 miles west of Honolulu, Hawaii; 1,500 miles south of Japan; 1,596 miles east from the Philippines; 2,026 miles east of Hong Kong; and 1,922 miles east of Shanghai.

Guam is an organized, unincorporated territory of the United States. It is headed by a Governor, 15 senators form the Guam Legislature and Congressional Delegate Madeleine Z. Bordallo represents Guam in the U.S. House of Representatives in a non-voting capacity.

What is Guam’s population and what are the cultural mix of its People?

The population of Guam is 159,358 as per the 2010 Census. The primary ethnic groups are Chamorro (37%), Filipino (26%), Pacific Islanders (7%), Caucasian (6%) and other Asian ethnicities including Japanese, Korean and Chinese (2%). Eighty-five percent of the population is Roman Catholic; the other 15 percent range from Presbyterian, Buddhist, Jehovah’s Witness, Seventh Day Adventist, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) and others.

What is the climate on Guam?

Guam has a tropical marine climate and the weather is hot and humid with minimal seasonal variations. The island experiences 2 seasons – dry season in the first half of the year and rainy season from July through December.

What is Guam's language?

English and Chamorro are the official languages of Guam. Many other dialects and languages are used due to Guam’s cultural, racial and ethnic diversities.

The Prepaid SIM is a self-activating SIM and Prepaid service with no hassle. For 5 days, it comes with Unlimited Local Calling, Local Texting, Nationwide US Calling and Unlimited plans for high-speed 4G data. The Rental MiFi provides cost-effective and likewise convenient ways to quickly get a device and choose from available plans.

What does “Self-Activating” for the Prepaid SIM mean?

The Prepaid SIM is activated just by inserting the SIM into a compatible phone (1900 Mhz WCDMA / HSPA+ frequency band not SIM locked to networks other than our provider iConnect Advanced) and making a first time balance inquiry.

How is the speed and quality of the high-speed 4G data?

Our high-speed 4G broadband data service provides a faster way of connecting to the internet through an all-new world-class Alcatel-Lucent network. The network was built from the ground up by Alcatel-Lucent using the same equipment standards as Verizon and AT&T in the U.S. With download speeds of up to 21 Mbps and uploads up to 5 Mbps, it’s as much as 10 times faster than 3G. What does LTE mean?

LTE stand for Long Term Evolution and is the new global standard for high-speed data for mobile devices. Operating in the 700 Mhz spectrum, our Alcatel-Lucent LTE network provides better coverage and in-building penetration advantages over other networks on higher frequency bands. Our system uses 128-bit encryption and is extremely secure. Now you can shop online and use your device for banking with confidence.

Can you really share access up to 10 devices?

The Unite MiFi device can connect up to 10 devices with up to 10 hours of battery life, depending on type of usage. The 2.8” touchscreen display device also has a farther WiFi range than ordinary mini portable devices. It’s a great solution for instant broadband internet connection for work or play while living in Guam or just visiting our beautiful island paradise.

How soon and how do you get it upon arrival on Guam?

Upon arrival in Guam, there will be a package containing your device or SIM card in the hotel front desk where you indicated your stay to be in.
